Leeds vs Crystal Palace match preview

Crystal Palace have now won their last 2, whilst Leeds have won 2 and lost 1 of their last 3, scoring 6 goals in their last 3 games. The meeting earlier this season finished 4-1 to Crystal Palace with 6 Leeds and 3 Palace corners and 2 Leeds bookings. A tricky game to call with 2 quite inconsistent teams. Leeds style of play means usually they either win or they lose, and that’s reflected in the fact they have only had 2 draws this season, and those draws came against Arsenal and Man City which are 2 games they probably would have taken a draw. A game like this is a game where we expect Leeds to go for the win. Palace have scored 5 in their last 3 and conceded 8 in their last 4, whilst both teams have scored in the last 3 Leeds games and those 3 games have seen a total of 10 goals. It looks like there will be goals in this game and both teams to score looks a bet that has a good chance. Leeds average nearly 2 corners a game more than Palace and Leeds have had 64 corners in their last 10 games and have given away just 23 corners in their last 6 games. Palace have had just 18 corners in their last 8 games and have given away 48 corners in their last 7 games (an average of just under 7 per game) so we expect Leeds to have the most corners and they could have a high count that starts to reach around 7/8 corners or more. Bookings looks like it could be risky, Leeds have been given 8 yellow cards in their last 3 games but 2 of the last 4 Palace games finished with no cards for anyone. Whilst its common that Leeds games this season usually see at least a couple of cards, the Palace booking stats are slightly off putting. Though the way Leeds play and the fact Palace are fighting for their 3rd win in a row means we do feel there will be a couple of cards, though we feel its best to either avoid bookings or keep the number of bookings you need to cover your bet on the low side. So we expect a game with a few goals that will likely be won by one of these sides, with Leeds having more corners and a high corner count that could reach 7/8 and then a couple of bookings would be no surprise but the stats don’t point to a card fest.
